Second Week in October: October 9th-13th (4 Day week, Indigenous Peoples' Day)


Tuesday's Read Aloud


Celebrating our 4th class birthday!

In our reading program, we study letters by looking closely at classroom names.
As we study the names (star names) in our class we put them on our word wall.

Handwriting: Our handwriting program Handwriting Without Tears uses wooden letters to help teach the proper formation of letters.  Magic c turns into an o, turns into an a, turns into a d.

A fun read aloud that ties into fire safety but helps the children with their alphabet acquisition.

A visit to the Cape Elizabeth Fire Station to supplement our learning about fire safety.

Each of the children had a turn to come up close and see it's still firefighter Jake in there.
Reminding the children they should not hide from them, they are there to help!

Chief Young shared a fire safety video that reminded the children of 
how important smoke detectors are.  
He also reminded them how important it is to know where the family's safe spot is.
Please take some time to be sure your child knows their safe spot.

Firefighter Mara and Liz invited us into the rescue to learn about their job as firefighters 
and paramedics and how they help people.
