A great winter story we enjoyed on Tuesday Morning.

Tuesday's Quiet Time Choice: Martin Luther King, Jr. color by number.

Quiet Time is daily.

Quiet Time always includes resting on a yoga mat or carpet or reading a book quietly.
There is a rotating third choice each day as well.

Handwriting instruction: Two lowercase letters, x and z.

Handwriting Practice: x and z in their handwriting book.

The photos in this story we enjoyed on Wednesday are wonderful!

Writer's Workshop: Narrative Writing
Sharing the beginning of his true story.
Reading his first page to his peers.
The children practice reading their own writing.
They are being encouraged to use the conventions that have been taught.
Our class is focusing on capitals at the beginning of the sentence, lowercase letters where needed, spaces between words, and punctuation at the end.

Reading the beginning of her true story to her peers.

The children are working on telling, drawing, and writing a true story with a beginning, middle, and end.

A kindergarten writing goal is to be able to develop their story.
They are working to show who was there, what they did, and how the characters felt.
The children are being encouraged to write details about what happened.

Thursday's story.  Perfect before an expected storm!

Mrs. Johnston sent these back with the children after art on Thursday.
