First Full Week of Kindergarten!

It was a great first full week of kindergarten!  We read Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten, Chrysanthemum, I Like ME!, All Are Welcome, This School Year Will Be the Best! You Will Be My Friend!, Will I Have A Friend?Little Beaver and the Echo, and more.  We had many great discussions.  Much of our reading work was focused on the letters in our names, reading and writing our names, and being able to recognize peers' names.  The children met Señora Chase and had their first World Language Class!

Morning Meeting: Passing Pete and giving a weekend share if interested.

We read Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready For Kindergarten by Joseph Slate.
Reviewed that we make letters from the top.
Practiced our fine motor skills with tear art.
Each child worked on the first letter of their name top to bottom formation.
We practiced using glue sticks appropriately.

Quiet Time: Coloring

We read and discussed chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes and most agreed our names are very important.
We studied each of our names and carefully colored name plates.
These are hung in our classroom.
