The children were of course very excited about Halloween night. They had all shared that their families were planning to celebrate, so on Monday we squeezed in the writing below. They enjoyed sharing about their night. Take a look at the labels that are now appearing as the children acquire more letter sound knowledge! Any letter sound work you can fit in verbally will support your young writer.

We have been reading the Big Book: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?. This story is a great one to have in your home library, many early literacy skills can be acquired from knowing it well.

After modeling and reviewing a couple number each day, we have a pumpkin book which highlights the numbers 1-10 in a ten frame!

Reading: Lessons have been focusing on understanding the difference between letters, words and sentences. This task gave the children a chance to show what they have learned.

Friday, we began learning about veterans. We read What Is Veterans Day? as well explored
our Scholastic News Let's Find Out about Veterans.
At choice time several children were inspired to paint messages for the Veterans.
We will do more this week.
Please remember that this year there is no school on Veterans Day as well as the day following.
