Winter gear is needed to play in the new snow!
Whether you are ready for the colder temperatures or not, they have arrived! Please know we go outside daily (weather permitting). The Pond Cove playground is quite chilly. Please take a few minutes to dig out your child's winter clothing. When there is snow on the ground, children need boots and snow pants to play in the snow. If they do not have them, they are asked to stay on the shoveled/plowed areas.

Please have your child wear their boots into school and have a pair of dry shoes to change into. Our routine will be to take the wet boots off at the lockers and store the boots in the bottom of the locker and put dry shoes on. Much of our instruction takes place on the classroom rug and dry shoes will help us keep our classroom rug dry & clean. Shoes with soles are preferred (not slippers). We need to be ready for drills and unexpected evacuations and in the past slippers have not kept children's feet warm and dry.  I would also recommend labeling items, snow pants especially. Many children have snow pants that look alike. The K Team makes every effort to return labeled items to the correct owners.  :)

*Something to consider: keeping an extra pair of sneakers and/or snow pants at school. Every child has their own locker, they are big enough to keep items in and your child will have less to carry! Please do tell your child what items can stay at school.
