Tam and the Pigeon
As part of our reading work (individual or reading group), we most often talk about the story afterward.
Often I close the book and we work on retelling the story in their own words.
We work on making sure there is a detailed beginning, middle, and end in a sequential order.
Children are being encouraged to provide character names when given.
Some days we work on giving a connection.
What did this story make you think of?
A personal connection?

When he goes to work to play music. Ana stays at Abuela's house. They speak Spanish and English together. Ana starts to plan an obstacle course that she wants to build but then starts to sneeze and ends up sick in bed. Later, she wakes up and finds Abuela in the living room, skating around the obstacle course she made from Ana's drawings.
