Fourth Week in January

The Great Kindness Challenge

We read lots of good books about kindness.

Students were happy to receive bookmarks in library!

We will continue to use the Pete the Cat Book Bag for our library books.
Allied Arts switches to back to Spanish, but the children will continue to receive library books.
If your child has had enough time with their 4 books send them on back in the labeled book bag.
Mrs. Rand will be switching the books out for the children.
Due dates for maroon & gold are listed in the slides in Google Classroom.

The children filled out this survey to help Mrs. Rand & Mrs. Rosenblum choose their next books!

Teacher Time: Guided Reading
The children are working on concepts of print.
Handing the book themselves.
Some are using their finger to carefully track print and keep match.
Others are using their eyes and working on fluency.
I am so proud of their growth!
They all desire to be better readers and are proud!
Thank you for your support at home with the book bag reading and Raz-Kids!

Their book bins at school for read to self.
Please look too see what is signed out to your child in their reading journal bag
and return those books & materials (paper & regular) after practicing at home.
Rereading books is very important at this age to secure many skills.
I hope you have established a bin of just right books for read to self at home!

Color by number.

Ta Da! Proud & happy to share.

The children are loving making 3D structures!

Friday was too cold to go outside.
A special request was to play 4 corners!
Blindfold on top of face mask is new this year.
They think it is pretty funny!
Everyone wishes to be the counter.
We are making sure everyone can count backwards from 15-0 (for now).
The last person standing gets to be the next counter in Four Corners!
Practice backwards 15-0 when you can!

The children were all given smile stickers for kindness week.
Many wore them on their masks!
Have a great weekend!
