Studying trees in science!
The Trees Module explores trees in and around the classroom and school site. Using real and representational materials, students observe tree parts, investigate leaves and learn about how trees are helpful to animals and humans.

Learning about the parts of a fruit tree!
Labeling the parts of an evergreen tree!

Our tree walk on Thursday:
Mr. Emer an Arborist from Top Branch Tree Service LLC. volunteers to educate the children about trees!
He and his two brothers came for the morning to help guide all the kindergarten children on a tree walk!
He was so knowledgeable and could answer any questions the children (and adults) had.  :)
Mrs. Paul also volunteered to help with the walking field trip, thank you!

Pausing at our apple tree out front!

Learning about the root system of a willow tree!
Charlene Vaughn also helped with the tree walk, thank you Charlene!

Teaching about the roots, trunk, bark, branches and leaves of two trees growing close together.

Mr. Elmer shares with the children tree cookies and explain why they call them tree cookies. He explains what kind of tree they were cut from. He brought one for each child to bring home. Some children received soft wood and some hard wood. I hope your child shared some of what they learned on our tree walk with Mr. Elmer.
Thank you TOP BRANCH TREE SERVICE!
