Singing Catch Him If You Can
Ask your child to sing this song for you! ☘️
Monday and Tuesday's Read Aloud was a version of The Little Red Hen.
The children practiced storytelling and acting.
They love acting!
They are working on retelling key details from the text.
vocabulary
Monday afternoon the children had a special assembly. Instead of music, masked readers!

I hope they shared with you their excitement and told you all about it!
You can see Mr. Davis (to the right) was one of the Masked Readers. ♥️
The horse (standing) was revealed as Miss Haft! 💕
Morning Meeting
Activity
Another song we have been singing.
K for ME read aloud for the second half of the week.
Read aloud for our construction unit, a cute story.
Perhaps this story will inspire some to build a fort at blocks
or even the discovery table with sand!
In our construction unit the children have learned about this process.
I am seeing several children complete several of these steps
as they design whatever it is they imagine!
Some children have drawn individual plans to help contribute to the class building.
We received a letter from Principal Karnes that charged the children to
come up with a building for our town that is fair and inclusive.
At the STEM table they drew their plans.
Saving their structure.
Art Table
A fun read aloud that some children knew.
Math
We have been working on place value.
We have also been working on ten and how many more for teen numbers.
Unifix cubes are often used to represent a group of ten (tower of ten)
encouraging children to count on from ten.
K Math Goal: I can count on from any number to 100.
Counting on from a number is still tricky for some children.
When time allows it would be helpful to practice.
You can provide a number and your child can count to the next group of ten.
Color By Number (19-26) & color words.
We worked together whole group to complete days 4 & 5 in Week 19's phonics.
The week in review went home Thursday.
Handwriting: Capital letters F & E were practiced.
Our Handwriting Without Tears program calls those "Frog Jump" letters.
Stations
The children have new emergent readers they are working in
while I am working with reading groups.

Legos
At the end of centers some are saving the structures they built for others to check out!
The written plan of their Water Spa is completed! Each point of this star shaped spa is a room.
In the middle of a star they have planned for a reception desk with a smoothie bar behind it.
Restaurant
Massage Room
Snacks
Hair Salon
Nails and Make up Salon
On the outside of the spa is where the water choices are.
On the left is a pool and pool house.
On the right is a deck with a hot tub and sauna.
This coming week the children will build the spa together at the Art Table.
A collection of what we call "Beautiful Stuff" to inspire the construction.
We will be working on building the Water Spa
at the Art Table during centers this week.
If your child wishes to bring in some type of material that they would like to use in the building they are welcome to add to the "Beautiful Stuff" collection.
It may be something like a small piece of fabric, felt, a bottle cap, a small box etc.
This Coming Week:
