Field Trip: The Children's Museum in Portland!
Learning About Simple Machines
The simple machines program fit nicely with our new Forces and Motion science unit!
We pretended to be squirrels. We learned about how we may be able to use simple machines to try to solve the problem of how to reach the feed in the bird feeder.

Special thanks to Jessica Proctor, Hyeri An, Jeff Davis & Sarah DeGroot for chaperoning!

Free exploration was
a lot of fun too!

Thank you to the PCPA for funding
the grant for this exciting field trip!

Predicting What the Groundhog Will Do On Groundhog Day

We read some great stories this week about the groundhog including Groundhog Day, Groundhog Get's a Say, Gregory's Shadow and Groundhog at Evergreen Road A Smithsonian's Backyard Book. On Friday we made groundhog stick puppets, named them and then made a prediction. We made a picture graph in our classroom windows. Ask your child what they predicted.
