Maureen Cahill (our Occupational Therapist) "Miss Moe" will co teach with me once a week.
This week the children learned about how to properly grip a pencil.
Ask your child about the driver and passenger in the car and see if they can explain.

The children have been learning about drills at school.
We read this poem and we did a practice fire drill as a class to our safe spot outside.
I shared a social story to prepare for the drill.
On Friday we practiced a fire drill without the alarm.
We also unexpectedly had a drill with the alarm.
Above the children are outside in our safe spot with all the other kindergarten classes.
The children did a great job!
Recess

Handwriting/Writing
Handwriting Without Tears is the program we use.
The children have been hearing songs to remind them of the letter formation taught.
Ask your child to sing this song to you.
Tear Art
Concentrating on starting at the top when forming letters.
Glue sticks were introduced.
Each child worked with their small muscles to glue paper on their letter
from the top to bottom.
They each worked on the first letter in their name!
We will hang these in the hallway when finished.
A new Quiet Time option was introduced on Friday: Sketch Books.
Sketching on the first page of their new sketch book which we will use all year.
Being a careful counter by moving and lining up a large group of red chips.
