The children are coming right inside now on their own
They greet Mrs. Cornell, hand her their Home/School Folder, hang up their things,
bring in their water bottle and wash their hands.
When their morning jobs are done they look for what they can do at their spot.

They play util morning announcements (daily at 8:45 am).
The children had a How To about the Omni Spinner before recess and we gave it a try at first recess.
Wednesday we had our first school wide fire drill. There was no alarm, but the whole school practiced evacuating safely to their safe spot and checking in. The children did well.

The birthday boy works on the cover for the next birthday book.

Thursday morning we heard his name announced over the intercom wishing him a happy birthday!
Ms. Karnes came down and invited him to the office to choose a book and receive a certificate and sticker!
He choose a nonfiction story!
In our classroom we also celebrate.
The birthday book, crown, sticker, birthday card/bookmark, a pencil and a bracelet.

Concentration on capital letters formation starting at the top.
Each child worked with their small muscles to glue paper top to bottom.
Glue sticks were introduced.
They each worked on the first letter in their name!
Handwriting Without Tears is the program we use.
The children have been hearing songs to remind them of the letter formation taught.
