Practicing her school lunch number by reading to the staff member at the register.


Eventually if your child can memorize their number it would be most helpful.
This number will be used grades k-4, so worth memorizing, thanks!

Big Book Read Aloud


Learning about classmates names.


Practicing writing the first capital letter and the rest lowercase.
Drawing self portraits and sharing with classmates what they are good at and can help with!
Mrs. Orlando is helping.  She is an Educational Technician that will spend time 
in our classroom two days a week during the literacy block.

Arrival
The children are coming right inside now on their own
They greet Mrs. Cornell, hand her their Home/School Folder, hang up their things, 
bring in their water bottle and wash their hands.


When their morning jobs are done they look for what they can do at their spot.
Transportation vehicles on this day!
They play util morning announcements (daily at 8:45 am).


The children had a How To about the Omni Spinner before recess and we gave it a try at first recess.


Wednesday we had our first school wide fire drill.  There was no alarm, but the whole school practiced evacuating safely to their safe spot and checking in.  The children did well.

Making birthday book for our first class birthday.


The birthday boy works on the cover for the next birthday book.


Each child produces page for the birthday child's book!






Our first class birthday!
Thursday morning we heard his name announced over the intercom wishing him a happy birthday!
Ms. Karnes came down and invited him to the office to choose a book and receive a certificate and sticker!
He choose a nonfiction story!


In our classroom we also celebrate.
The birthday book, crown, sticker, birthday card/bookmark, a pencil and a bracelet.
The children pick their treats.


Handwriting
Tear Art
Concentration on capital letters formation starting at the top.
Each child worked with their small muscles to glue paper top to bottom.
Glue sticks were introduced.
They each worked on the first letter in their name!


Handwriting Without Tears is the program we use.
The children have been hearing songs to remind them of the letter formation taught.
This one was a song and video!





These are proudly hung in the hallway for everyone to enjoy!
