Celebrating birthdays at school is fun! The birthday child is the leader of the day. He or she receives a crown, a giant sticker, a pencil, a bracelet and a birthday card. He or she selects a book of choice to take home to read. We sing a couple songs to them and then they move their cupcake on our age graph. At writing workshop each student in the class creates a page for the birthday child which we staple into a book to go home to share.
