 Thanksgiving Writing

Family, meat, mac & cheese, friends!  :)

I am
thankful

for ...

Sounding out words: saying the word out loud and listening for the sounds. Writing the letters for the sounds we hear in words.

Family members, friends, soccer  :)

A Thanksgiving turkey, friends, Christmas   :)

Friends, family members, recess   :)

All the children's writing is hung in the kindergarten hallway to share with others.

Sketch Book Friday Has Begun at Quiet Time!
Ask your child about it!

Daily Reading Work

Reminder: Each child has a reading journal like this one above.
Watch for Reading Journals Materials to come home in your child's Home/School Folder!
1. The student practice reads to an adult for 2 or 3 days (not just one).
2. Any adult who listens to the student read can sign the stamp.
(It's fun to see several names over time: mom, dad, grandparent, aunt, uncle, baby sitter etc.)
3. After 2 or 3 days of practice, please return all materials signed out in the zip loc bag
via your child's home/school folder. We'll be reusing the zip loc.

We treat the paper books we create the same as regular published books.
If the book is signed out, we are still working with it,
please return it to school.

Goal: Seeing themselves as a reader!
Enthusiasm for reading!
I hope your child is enjoying reading to adults at home!
