Scholastic Book Fair Offered by the PCPA

Third Week in May: Visiting Authors Christopher Denise and Anika Aldamuy Denise



Writer's Workshop: Preparing a birthday book for our next class birthday!










Handwriting: The formation of Capital V and W are taught at the same time.

Capital V dry and wet try.


Ms. Cahill (our OT) co teaches to help with proper posture, grip, and formation!
We are working to strengthen fine motor.

On Wednesday we celebrated another birthday in our classroom.
Singing the age song: "Are you one, are you two?" etc.
Six years old!



Updating the changing age graph: How many five year olds now? How many six year olds?

Thursday was our first NWEA assessment (Dyslexia Screener).
iPads needed to be set up.
The children were happy to have a picnic snack while adults got the iPads ready at the tables.







This NWEA check in require the children to repeat what they hear.  
Headphones with a microphone were used.





The whole class earned a link for their patience!
They truly gave this their best effort!


Because of NWEA testing we were unable to go out for recess Thursday.
Here we are playing four corners inside to get a little movement in!

Thursday was our first Visiting Author Day!
Mrs. Kennedy prepares the entire kindergarten to be good listeners.

The authors met the kindergarten in the library.
This year we were lucky to have two authors!
