Fourth Week in January (4 days, Monday Snow Day #2)


Writer's Workshop: Working on developing her true story.


Using her personal word wall as a resource.


Reading her writing.  
The children are working on making sure their stories have 
a beginning, middle, and end.

Reading: Roll a Sign Word (Snap Word).
The goal is for children to be able to read these words and use them in their writing!

Reading: Word Work
When your child's work comes home please ask them to read the word they studied.
If they are unable to read it,  it would be great if you could 
hang it somewhere to practice until they are confident.



Math: Practicing count with a one-to-one match.
I am encouraging the children to touch and move for accurate counting.
Kindergarten Goal: Count 20 objects accurately.

Reading
We have been working very hard to secure short vowel sounds.
The children are being provided lots of practice tapping out 
consonant, vowel, consonant words (CVC words).
This worksheet was one of their independent jobs while the teacher is reading with reading groups.
When your child's work comes home, please ask them to read the words on the worksheet.
Kindergarten Goal: To read CVC words.
