The first lost tooth went home in a tooth necklace!

We have had a great start!  We spent a considerable amount of time getting to know our routine, learning names, how to use materials properly and where to find things. We have shared some basic rules and expectations, the most important being: showing common courtesy to all. The kids are adjusting well. I enjoy them very much! Check our blog every now and then to see what we are up to. I hope the blog will help keep you informed about what we are learning.

Coming to kindergarten for some is a big adjustment.  New school, new friends and a new teacher to get to know. To foster some sharing of feelings we read and discussed The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn, First Day Jitters by Julie Danneburg and Little Beaver and The Echo. We read a poem and each child made a print of their hand on a worksheet to bring home. I hope your child's made it home to you! We completed another which highlighted their first day feelings. I'll share it with you at conferences. The children expressed feeling:shy, nervous, happy, weird, excited and proud.
Rest often looks like this.
Rest may look like this as well.
